I am a full time middle school Science teacher by day - and a shopaholic, savings freak by night. I would really love to get my family eating 100% organic, but the prices are sooo high! So I've decided to save $$ where I can and spend it on important things for my family. For instance, I saved $15 shopping the other night so I used some of that savings to purchase organic milk for my family. Since I've started, it's become an obsession - I get upset when I spend more than $20 a week on groceries and I'm always competing (with myself) to spend less every week.
1.) Why do you blog?
If I'm going to spend the time researching the deals, why not share them? It's also an outlet for me - how I get some "me" time.
2.) What do you blog about?
Being thrifty, and trying to go green while doing it!
3.) What do you find to be the biggest reward you get from blogging?
I love when people tell me how I saved them money! I know it's cheesy but I spend a lot of time doing this and there is no great monetary reward - but knowing that I helped someone save keeps me doing it!
4.) How long have you been blogging?
Since December 2009.
5.) Let's hear the story behind your blog title! :)
I wanted something that said "thrifty" while also emphasizing "green". So I took the old adage of "a green thumb" and changed it to "a thrifty thumb".
wow 20$ a week thats amazing!!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog!
ReplyDelete$20 a week IS amazing! I have a 9-month-old who is formula-fed, so our biggest expense is baby formula. Once we're done buying formula I can't wait to see how our grocery bills go down!
ReplyDeleteStopping from the Bash! It was great to learn about your life. I love your blog title.
